Illustration Friday: Poise (The Dapper Toad)

This is a fake "Little Golden Book" that I just finished for my friend, Ian Samuels. He's a grad student in the directing program at CalArts and this picture/book will be used as an important prop in a film he's shooting this term. I will link to the final film when it's ready for viewing! (I do think the toad is quite poised, yes?)

Here is my final monster print for WonderCon this weekend! He's that monster that lives in your couch cushions and his natural instinct is to steal your change. This kid is obviously too absorbed in his videogame to notice...

I just finished up a set of 6 small originals that will also be available at WonderCon - will post those tomorrow. We are both SP13 (Small Press) - will also put up a map so you can find us.

 Happy Birthday to my sister Alyssa! She's got two dogs and I thought of her when I made this little birthday card. It will be available at WonderCon, along with an assortment of other birthday cards (if I can finish them in time...) I should also have this card up for sale on my etsy store after WonderCon.

Illustration Friday: Time

 Another household monster! This guy only comes out at certain times - mostly when there's a plump unsuspecting child walking down into the basement. This will be available as a print at WonderCon and later on my etsy store.

Illustration Friday: Flawed

Here is the first in a series of Household Monsters that I am working on. This guy is flawed, in the sense that he can't help himself from eating those delicious socks in the dryer. This print will be available at WonderCon at the end of the month and on my etsy store soon after that!

Purr-casso 2008, IF: Repair

I've got three pieces to donate to the Purrcasso 2008 auction. The money from this auction will go to help repair the old humane society building. Check em out:

Illustration Friday: Sugary

 This illustration is so cute that it can only be described as sugary. This is card number two that will be for sale at APE in November. I just okay'ed the proofs for the cards today and they will hopefully be here next week.

Illustration Friday: Packed

The room is packed with presents! This is my ideal Christmas night image, and I actually did a similar illustration for a Reporter magazine cover back in college.

More importantly, this is one of four holiday cards that I will be offering for sale at the Alternative Press Expo in November. I will post the other three shortly! And I will be offering 3-4 large format prints and some smaller mini-prints which I will also post soon. (I will probably print up some buttons and other small stuff, too.)

PS, I really wanted to have a subtle glow coming from the fireplace, but I worried that people would be concerned for Santa's well-being. I may still add it...

What a great stroke of luck! I've been meaning to finish up this drawing of this axe-weilding sexy viking lady and then along comes this topic. You can see she has "detached" a few heads in her day!

PS, This looks great on my Cintiq and blown out on my other monitor...not sure what to do about that. : \
Also, I just got back from LA and I will post about my trip soon. Woohoo!

Ok, so this was originally done for Wrinkle, but wasn't finished in time. Luckily, elephants are wide as well as wrinkly. Photoshop and Cintiq.

Went to Tilden Park in Berkeley on Easter and did this little sketch...thought it fit the topic of "Save" - Save the Earth! Such a beautiful park, so glad its there for people to enjoy.

IF: Leap, part 2

This is a Christmas gift I made for my girlfriend, but it fit the topic of "Leap" too well not to post. She's a dancer and loves leaping...and also likes pandas. The Chinese characters you see actually say "bear" + "cat"...which is panda. Did you know Pandas weren't discovered until the 1860s?

I don't think I've ever completed an IF topic in one day, on the first day. But today was Leap Day and I had to do it. This is a little less cartoony than usual for me. TabletPC and Photoshop.
